Angels. Demons. Life after death.

About 15 years ago, a friend of mine woke up in the middle of the night, his heart pounding. At the foot of his bed stood a figure—overwhelmingly real and terrifying. He was frozen in terror. Then, in a voice that echoed with authority, the figure simply said, “Go to church.” And then, it was gone.

Was it an angel? A ghost? A hallucination? Whatever it was, he couldn’t shake the experience, and the next Sunday, he found himself on the phone to me, since I was the only one he knew that was into God.

Stories like this intrigue us, and sometimes, they terrify us. We love hearing about the supernatural—angels, demons, miracles—but we can also get fixated on these things, as if they’re more important than our real-world life. “Supernatural” literally means 'outside' (super) the natural order (natural), in other words, something that exists outside our natural laws. Of course, there is one being who is truly outside the natural order - God Himself.

God is not limited by physics, time, or human understanding. He speaks, and galaxies form. He moves, and miracles happen. The Bible tells us that the unseen world is real, but it always points us back to the One who reigns over it. We need not fear what we cannot see or know because God is the one who created it, and He's there for us.

Curious? Come and explore with us.

Join us Sundays beginning in April as we dive into “Spiritual Things” and discover the truth beyond the veil.
