The Road Out: Why Exodus Might Be Your Story Too

Have you ever felt stuck? Trapped in something you didn’t choose, or overwhelmed by something you can’t control? Maybe it’s a job, a habit, a family pattern, or just that nagging feeling that you’re meant for more—but you don’t know where the “more” is.
If so, the book of Exodus might be more relevant than you think.
Exodus might seem like a dusty epic from long ago: a baby in a basket, a burning bush, plagues, parted seas, and thunder on mountaintops. And yet there is something deeply human and surprisingly familiar:
People longing for freedom. People crying out for help. People encountering God.
Exodus literally means “the road out.” It’s the story of how God leads a group of enslaved people out of Egypt—not just to escape something painful, but to become something new: a community shaped by hope, justice, and presence. It's not an allegory (It's a real people-group enslaved in an actual regime) but it is a gripping narrative. And it reveals something about God: God delights in freeing people.
That’s a story we all need. Here's a link to the sermons from pastor Marty so far.
Thinking about coming in person? This might help...
