Why all the Moving Around??????

If you’ve been part of City North recently, you may have noticed something: we’ve been moving around a bit.

Some weeks we’re at the KGV Centre, other weeks we’re at the park, and sometimes, who knows where we'll be! It can feel a little unsettled.

The reason is simple. The KGV Centre is an active community space, and at the moment a number of important community events have been scheduled there on Sundays. That means from time to time we need to make adjustments and meet somewhere different.

If the changing venues have left you feeling slightly disoriented or frustrated, you’re not alone. But there’s also something important for us to remember in this season.

The Church Was Never a Building

One of the quiet blessings of seasons like this is that they remind us of something deeply true: the church is not a building.

The church is a people. Our current moment gives us a small taste of the flexibility that Church communities have had to have for centuries.

God Goes With His People

More importantly, the God we worship is not tied to one location.

When Israel travelled through the wilderness, God travelled with them. When they entered new lands, God went ahead of them. When the early church scattered across the world, God was already there. Our meeting place might shift week to week, but God is with us

A Temporary Season

It’s important to say clearly: this season is temporary. Over time things will settle again, and our regular rhythm will return. In the meantime, we’re doing our best to communicate clearly each week so everyone knows where we’re meeting.

If you’ve been patiently checking updates, adjusting plans, or helping others find the right venue each week—thank you.

Your flexibility and encouragement help our church stay focused on what really matters: worshipping Jesus, loving one another, and welcoming others into the life of the church.

And wherever we gather next Sunday, we can be confident of this:

The God who calls His people to gather is the same God who goes before them.

And He is never unsettled.
